NECSEL High Power Laser Light Sources

Novalux extended-cavity surface-emitting lasers (NECSELs) are high power, low cost visible laser light sources which offer advantages in applications including microdisplay projection, direct scan projection and speciality lighting and illumination. The extended cavity enables NECSEL to provide a high power, single mode beam, and NECSELs couple particularly well into fibres.

Red, green and blue wavelengths are available, plus an RGB Neon laser illumination system.

Part Number Product Description Wavelength Capability PDF
NECSEL-640-5000 NECSEL visible array - red 640 nm
NECSEL-532-3000 NECSEL visible array - green 532 nm
NECSEL-465-3000 NECSEL visible array - blue 465 nm

OPV200 VCSEL

Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs)

In contrast to conventional laser diode technology, these laser diodes emit upward, hence the name Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers. Long wavelength VCSELs have cost advantages over traditional edge-emitting laser diodes, and are capable of transmitting high data transfers over long distances. Other benefits include lower power consumption and higher reliability.

TT Optek offers a range of 850nm VCSELs for data communications and sensing applications.

VERTILAS' newly-developed laser diodes (1310, 1490 and 1550nm) stand out for their high-speed data transfer capabilities (up to 10 Gbit/s), as well as for their small structural shape, low current threshold and low power consumption. Long wavelength VCSELs constitute a core component of future laser-optic communication networks through which fiber-to-the-home plans are being made possible for the first time in a cost-effectiveness manner. They also offer numerous applications for use in gas sensor engineering and optical measuring methods.
