Light Emitting Converter (LEC) Material
Light Beam’s patented LEC material is a unique polymer-based substance which is able to wavelength shift through a photoptic process of absorption and emission in the cross-linked plastic material. The shorter wavelengths of light from the solid state emitting source are completely absorbed, or in part if so desired, and re-emitted as light at longer wavelengths.
LEC material can be tuned to specific wavelengths in the color spectrum and the concentrations can be tailored to exact specifications. Light Beam Industries offers clear and fluorescent solid core fibers made from LEC material, in super flexible or rigid forms. Using our patented designs we have the ability to regulate the side or end light that is pumped from the fiber. These solid core fibres emit up to three times more light than any existing solid core side light fibre on the market. The possibilities for using a flexible, heat-free and energy efficient fiber optic cable this dazzling are endless. Super Side Light is specifically designed to be lit with LEDs which means conventional light drivers are not required. The fibre is available in a range of diameters from 4.5mm to 30mm, for applications of up to 5 metres in length. Also available in clear protective jacket.
Other applications include Laser Rods, Binning-independent LED Lenses, Corporate Signage, Light Pipes, Instrument Panel Indicators, Custom Color (designer) LEDs.
